As members may be aware we have big plans for the future of our club. Those of you who are regulars will know we are running out of space for boats and would like bigger and better facilities for indoor training. All plans need resourcing and we need to raise money to support future developments.

Would you be willing to help out? Either by organising or by taking part in fundraising activity.

To kick things off we are planning to take part in this year’s Great Kiltwalk Glasgow which takes place on Sunday September 26th. This event provides a great opportunity to work together as a club, get a bit more of the exercise & fresh air we love and to raise vital funds through sponsorship.

There are two walks 'The Mighty Stride' - 16.5 miles, and the 'The Wee Wander' which is 3.5 miles & suitable for those with young children. If 10 CSRC members (or families) each raise £100 that’s £1000 in the bank, to which the Hunter Foundation will add another 50% to make it £1500!!

We’ve registered the club on the Kiltwalk site so to enter select Register and then pick CSRC from the drop down list when it asks you who you will be walking for. Places may be limited so register your interest now at https://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk/scotlandskiltwalk

The site will direct you to JustGiving to set up your sponsorship details. Select The Kiltwalk as your chosen charity here and this will link your fundraising to CSRC through the event and means we get the extra 50% from the Hunter Foundation. Make sure you talk about CSRC and your efforts to improve your club’s facilities at the top of the page.

Several of us have already registered for the 8am start. Join us or pick a time to meet up with other friends and we can share our pictures and stories online after the event.
